This is my first e-bike and I really like it. Form the assist to the carrying capacity: amazing.
These days I live in a very mountainous area and riding my old bicycle up and down the mountains to run errands became impossible as I grew older. Cycling to the next village and back was more likely to kill me than help my fitness !
Then I stumbled across the Engwe EP-2 Boost and ordered one, hoping that it would have enough e-assist to make riding up and down to neighbouring villages possible again. I can confirm that it does just that, exactly what I was hoping that it would do !
I can come up the mountain using assist level 5 in the steepest sections and level 3 or lower for the rest of it. So far I haven't even needed to use the Boost button to finish my rides but it's nice to know that it is there if I am having a bad day fitness-wise !
It's also great fun going from 0 to 25 kph in seventh gear, just by hitting the Boost button and starting to pedal. That functionality is extremely useful, especially when traffic forces you to stop on an incline and you would normally struggle to shift into a low gear to get going again. No such problems with the EP-2 Boost, just leave the bike in top gear, hit the Boost button and start pedalling.
If you take your time assembling it, you should have a very quiet running bicycle with no rattles anywhere. You might need to adjust the brake callipers though, both of mine were dragging excessively from the factory.
With the large tyres and front suspension, I find the EP-2 Boost to be extremely comfortable over all but the worst terrain, despite having no rear suspension.
The saddle is also more comfortable than I expected.
As long as everything keeps working ( and it looks like it should, these bikes are very well made ! ) this will have been an excellent purchase. I am now back to cycling almost daily after years of thinking that it was no longer an option. I also take the EP-2 out to run errands, rather than making shorter journeys in the car. It has become a really useful addition to my garage !
Buying from Engwe's own website was extremely easy and the bike was delivered within two days ! The bikes are extremely well packaged and the supplied instructions are adequate to get the bike put together. I would however recommend checking YouTube for videos of the process. I spent too much time trying to understand the instructions. If you watch a video of somebody assembling one, you realise that it's a lot easier than the instructions make it seem !
As of now, with 1000km on the EP-2 Boost I would recommend it to anybody.

Super vélo maniable et performant. Convient parfaitement a usage quotidien pour aller au travail ou pour les sorties familiales dans les sentiers. On aime le bouton Boost pour une aide appréciable au démarrage ou dans les côtes. Dans notre secteur vallonné, comptez sur une autonomie de 50 a 60 km.. Le colis est arrivé rapidement en bon état. Le montage est simple pas de réglage. Un rodage des freins semble nécessaire. Ils sont bruyants au freinage. Pour moi, il manque une bonne selle avec un tube de selle suspendu. Merci ENGWE pour ce vélo que j'apprécie et que je recommande.
Love the bike. It gives me so much freedom and range and I really like the boost bottom for the acceleration it gives.
Hab das EP2 Boost heuer im Urlaub in Italien entdeckt und zu Hause dann gleich gekauft! Was soll ich sagen - es ist einfach ein geiles Bike und es macht viel Spaß damit zu fahren!
Der Motor hat ordentlich Kraft und selbst die Hügel in unserer Gegend sind kein Problem mehr.
Ich fahr' unter anderem jeden Tag damit einkaufen - 70 Höhenmeter runter und mit BOOST wieder rauf! 😎
